Global Entrepreneurship Summer School (GESS) on the subject of "Food"
27 February 2017, by Sophie Palm
The application for this year´s Global Entrepreneurship Summer School (GESS) in September has opened recently. Students from everywhere in the world are invited to develop innovative and entrepreneurial solutions concerning the topic "Food".
According to the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, 795 million people are still suffering from hunger. Yet, our global food waste could feed three billion people every year. There have already been initial approaches to solving these global problems. The solutions, however, are still preliminary, as they usually lack innovation and the possibility of global scaling.
During a seven day period, interdisciplinary student teams will therefore develop business models within the problem area "Food" which are economically viable and have a lasting positive influence on society. With the GESS, young and prospective entrepreneurs get the unique experience of achieving greater things together. Host is the Munich-based Social Entrepreneurship Akademie. Collaborating with Tongji University in Shanghai and Tecnológico de Monterrey in Mexico City, GESS will be taking place on three different continents - Europe, Asia and Latin America.
All motivated students who seek to tackle one of the major challenges of our time can apply until April 17th, 2017 on the GESS website.
